Movember

On a quick note was inspired today by a twitter by bris gal @dellvink who will be wearing vintage dresses each day to support movember....Thinking of doing a similar thing and blogging my days...
So last week i had a thing for yellow, which is very unlike me. Being a natural redhead and i will admit a child in the 70's my mother dressed me in nothing but green, brown and yellow. But, you know i was experimenting with color, woke up thinking about yellow (yes this really does happen to me, and yes, i know it sounds wierd...) went off to work and was met by a fellow library person wearing a bright sunshine yellow t-shirt. It was so exactly the shade of yellow that i'd wanted that i was entranced. This was later in the week so i went off on Saturday to look for yellow dress, which i could picture and clearly had to have......
Except that after a few hours of searching i couldn't find anything like what i actually wanted!!!!
Luckily for me i live with a man who is not only handsome & debonair, but also quiet pragmatic and inventive. He said to me at about 4pm, "my love mabye you should buy a white dress and dye it yellow" Did i mention i love this man? He clearly knew he wasn't getting any peace till i had my dress.
So we went searching and found a perfect white lace shift dress, and some yellow dye. Sunshine yellow, i might add. A few hours later i had the perfect sunshine yellow dress i had pictured to the amazment of friends :) Imagine my joy.....Will post pics soon
Special thanks for this go not only to Mr puppy on the radio, but also to my lovely friend hannah belle who put up with us on this trip and whose help was also invaluble *hugs babe*

Pink Ribbon Day

Today is Pink Ribbon day, which is designed to raise money for breast cancer research. A few of us decided to wear pink today to work to raise awareness support. So i've taken an unusual approach ( inspired by another woman thanks Lee ) and not having a pink dress, worn a white shift dress and white cardy with fuscia pink stockings, beads and bangle. I also have a bright pink handbag with me today. It was great fun standing at camberwell station today watching people trying to work me out. I hope others of you have worn some pink today.
So the ten days since ive blogged have beern very busy, the weather in Melbourne has been changing and we're now into Spring which is my fave season. It's perfect weather to pop on a dress and hight heels or sandals mabye a cardy then rush out the door into the sun. (ok in reality there's not a lot of rushing out to greet the morning in my life, but you know the mornings are lovely.)
I have done my usual market shops to increase my dress count, and also had a lovely visit to Rose st artists' market in Fitzroy. It's on every Saturday and is a beatiul place full of hand crafted jewellry, clothes, and many other things. I managed to resist temptation there thou it was very difficult.....

A very colorful week

So it's Friday today and my adventures in color have continued all week. Also clearly my blogging which is becoming addictive! If only i had a lovely notebook......So far this week we have had pink day, blue day ( which was a strech cause i have 2 blue pieces in my wardrobe...) grey day and today....back to black day- but with fuscia accesories and nails. I woke up today with an urge to wear yellow, which is very strange for me. I haven't worn yellow since i was a small chile, and walked into work thinking about yellow, and there in front of me at shelving time was a lovely girl i work with wearing a bright yellow very very cute t-shirt. She looked so fab!!! So apparently my quest this weekend will be to find something pretty in a bright sunshiny yellow.
The other great thing that's happened this week is that a few gf's who work at other places have been helping me plan my colors, (Yes, i do realise that to some of you reading this it seems like we have too much time on our hands) and also in the true spirit of sisterhood wearing the same color lol. I just love the fact that there is a seemingly random thread of color weaving it's way through melbourne joining us all. Todays outfit btw black pleated knee length skirt, black sweater, 3 strands of pearls-so much cooler than 1- black boots, fuscia tights and day glo pink nails. So thanks gals, you know who you are.....are we continuing next week? lol

It's a red day today.......

It has been a very busy week for this gal and her pink umbrella....There has been much lovely coffee, (thanks lovely coffee guy), some lovely sunshine and a few new purchases. I have decided that each posting will include today's outfit....since some of you seriously seem to want to know.....and mabye a photo once i get a bit more techo advanced.
So today's outfit, black pinstripe pencil skirt, red & white floral print chiffon blouse, red trench coat, latte shoes. Also red nail polish & lipstick ( Napolean Madrid ) you can see where this is going, can't you? Clearly a red day. (Although my lovely 17 yr old son did inform me that the lipstick was just "too red " clearly that was just one step too far.)
My wardrobe over the last few weeks seems to be changing, i seem to be exploring color for the first time in quiet a while.....possibly inspired by discussions of one of my fave books...The color kittens. if you don't know it its a little golden book i loved as a child. Basically it has kittens and lots of color, what more could you want??

So yesterday was a pink day, today is red.....which kind of got me thinking about why we choose the colors and clothes we do. Puppy on the radio ( my esteemed partner, see previous post ) pretty much alsways wears black, and it's not cause he's lazy, it's a choice. I really never wear pants or jeans yet i have friends who are the oppsite. What part of our minds choose these things ?

Week 2....Jaynie actually blogs

So after about ten days of procrastination, i am finally sitting in front of my computer starting my blog. Miss fi is here helping me and she's a bit grumpy cause i forgot her coffee. I have promised to take her to new cafe the show my appreciation.
Apparently this is meant to be an intro to my blog.........and me i guess.
So, for those of you who don't know much about me here's my little intro.
I am a melbourne gal through and through, obsessed by my ever expanding wardrobe....(a bit like the one in Narnia which opens into magical worlds) coffee, chocolate, music an my ipod - i can often be seen dancing around camberwell station in the mornings. Also Camberwell market which is my favorite place to shop......
I have a pugeliere called Lola who may also feature a lot, a partner called Justin ( aka Puppy on the radio ) and three teenage boys.
So basically my life is an ever expanding quest to find a new dress to wear, the best coffee i can each morning.......
